AREA OF CONCERN

Based on a Straits Times article titled “The hard - and heart - part of inclusiveness for the disabled” , a survey* in 2016 showed that many Singaporeans remain uncomfortable interacting with people with disabilities.

Half of the parents polled were uncomfortable about their child having to sit next to one with special needs in class.

The survey findings suggested that to change mindsets, we have to create more opportunities for interaction.
